TRUBYVILLE ROVING REPORTER

Today, we came to school as we normally do, sat in our class lines (which are in the gym), and at about 8:00, Mrs. Lazzo, our secretary, came in on the intercom and said,"Teachers and students, Mr. Dary is home sick, and we are not having rehearsals today." After about 5 or 10 minutes, Mrs. Truby came and dismissed our class from the gym, to the classroom. We unpacked our backpacks, put our backpacks and coats in our lockers, and did our morning work. We had two pages of morning work which were both English papers. One was a parts of speech worksheet and one was a subject-verb agreement paper.

Today, I had to turn in my essay for a project that were doing. After lunch, recess, and band, she gave it back to me and told me that I had to correct some things, but I'm not to that yet

Instead of doing morning work, I had to do my D.O.L. because I hadn't done it yet.

After we did our morning work (actually, I did my D.O.L. instead), Mrs. Truby called off work. After she called off the work, we graded it. I mainly got all pluses, but I think that one time, I missed one, and another time, I missed 1/2 point because of misspelling. Next, we all read a book that we're reading in class called Surviving the Applewhites it's a really good book and I think that you, the reader, should read it sometime. I think that you'd enjoy it.

After we read, we did Venn Diagrams about the book, comparing and contrasting characters. I did a three-way diagram. The people that i chose to compare (and contrast) were a delinquent named Jake, a dog named Winston, and a little boy named Destiny. We worked on it for a little while by ourselves. Then, we worked for a bit with the people in our group. Finally, we worked for a little bit as a whole class. When we were done with that, we turned our Venn Diagrams in and Mrs. Truby gave us an extra recess because we worked so well on the diagrams.

After recess, we went to science lab. In science lab, we watched a video about the scientific method. While we were watching the video, Mrs. Amos, our science lab teacher/counselor was using the scientific method to do an experiment of her own! She was walking around in the back of the room to see if at least 1/2 of us would turn around and look at her. Turns out, 10 people out of 18 in our class turn around and looked at her! She was correct!

After Science Lab, we went back to the classroom and did some L.C.M.'s and G.C.F.'s (if you want to know what they stand for, see Aeron's ROVING REPORTER page). Then, we learned about mixed numbers. After that, we were assigned a worksheet.
After she gave us time to do the worksheet, we went to lunch. At lunch, we had Frito Chili Pie. I added some flavor to it by mixing it with rice, corn, and crumbled up pita chips. After lunch, we had recess. After recess, we had band. During band, we practiced getting on and off stage because we had a concert that night.

After band, when I went back to the classroom, I found my essay with mistakes pointed out on my desk (as noted above). After I looked the worksheet over, Mrs. Truby assigned us a science worksheet. Then, she gave us cards to write letters to soldiers in Iraq. After we wrote in the cards, it was time to write agenda, pack up, and go home.
I stayed after school because some other 5th graders and I had a lego mindstorms NXT class then. We had the class from 3:30 to 4:30. At 4:30, I blasted out of the school to get new glasses.
After I got glasses, I went home until 6:30. At 6:30, I went to my band concert.
